The '''fake "[[Pork and Beans]]" lyrics prank''' was planned by [[Albumsix]] users [[User:Ohjonas (admin)|ohjonas]] and goatpunishment, with assistance from [[User:Soupandballoons (admin)|Soupandballoons]] in [[2008]].

==Overview==
This prank occurred in the build up of anticipation before the release of ''[[The Red Album]]''. Fans had heard only a short snippet of "Pork and Beans," as a 30-second preview of it had made available via Amazon's website. The song had already been announced as the lead single for [[Weezer's]] sixth album, ''[[The Red Album]]''. Shortly after, ohjonas and goatpunishment started a thread on [[Albumsix|Albumsix.com]] (now [[allthingsweezer|AllThingsWeezer.com]]) in which they claimed to have found the lyrics of the yet-unreleased song posted online. The site they found it from had "been taken down" immediately after, however, and the only evidence left was the lyrics that they had "discovered." They then posted the lyrics to songmeanings.net in an attempt to convince people. The [http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/3530822107858715807/1/DESC/#comment comments] on "Pork and Beans"s song meanings page are still up from the prank.
