He complies, feeling like it’s the right thing to do, since they have a complex history, but makes it known that just because he is protecting her, it won’t mean he’ll get with her tonight.

 Jonas is somewhat promiscuous.  He goes to Maria's pod, sniffs glue with her and then has sex with her.  This is chronicled in the song "[[Come to My Pod]]".  Later, Jonas is embarrassed and flees - illustrating his personality, fear of commitment with a woman he deems “too crazy to settle down with.” When Jonas finally meets Laurel, he falls for her.  Jonas also ends up having  a daughter with Maria because of their hookup. It is unknown what becomes of Jonas, as ''SFTBH'' was never finished nor released.
