Maria being described by him as a “bad girl” and Laurel described as a “good girl.”

On May 10, 2126, Jonas took off on the ship Betsy II with shipmates Wuan, Dondó, mechanoid M1, Laurel, and his former lover and ship’s cook Maria.  This event is chronicled in "Blast Off!". At the end of this song, Dondó points out Maria to Jonas, and asks “wasn’t that your favorite bitch in the academy?” Jonas retorts back, assuring Maria is “actually a good girl.” Dondó then says “or at least a cheap ho.” This comment deeply hurts and pisses Maria off who lashes out at the men, especially Dondó, in the song (Who You Callin’ Bitch?) Then in (You Won’t Get With Me Tonight) she wants Jonas to defend her against her friend’s. He complies, feeling like it’s the right thing to do, since they have a complex history, but makes it known that just because he is protecting her, it won’t mean he’ll get with her tonight.

Jonas is somewhat promiscuous.  He goes to Maria's pod, sniffs glue with her and then has sex with her.  This is chronicled in the song "Come to My Pod".  Later, Jonas is embarrassed and flees - illustrating his personality, fear of commitment with a woman he deems “too crazy to settle down with.” When Jonas finally meets Laurel, he falls for her.  Jonas also ends up having  a daughter with Maria because of their hookup. It is unknown what becomes of Jonas, as SFTBH was never finished nor released.
