{{Main|Songs from the Black Hole}}
''Songs from the Black Hole'' (hereby referred to and initialized as ''SFTBH'') was intended to be the follow-up to the ''Blue Album'', a space-themed rock opera inspired by the likes of Jesus Christ Superstar and Les Misérables. Cuomo would spend the Christmas break of 1994 and occasional time in the beginning of [[1995]] writing and demoing new music for this project, while sometimes slotting in older songs to fit the story as well (it is noted where a recording has already been listed).
The first demoed tracklist, referred to here as "tracklist 1", is comprised of several older recordings, recordings done over Christmas break, and recordings done by Cuomo and Wilson in Hamburg, Germany, while they were stuck there after Sharp had a family emergency, in a rented studio to ADAT tape. Some Southern Fried Swing recordings were done during this time too, including "[[The Complete History of Techno]]", a song recorded to make fun of the music being worked on in the studio over from them.
