Biography
Maria is a seductive and sharp-tongued character from Weezer’s *Songs from the Black Hole*. She is deeply in love with Captain Jonas and constantly misses him, often reminiscing about their fling or possible relationship at the Star Corps Academy. Their connection was never healthy — Jonas was mostly interested in the sex and even describes her as “too crazy to settle down with,” which only reinforces her “bad girl” persona Rivers intended. Yet, he can’t seem to resist her temptation. Early in the story, Maria uses her emotions and charm to manipulate Jonas, getting him to come to her pod to sleep with her and sniff glue, after making him protect her from Wuan and Dondó’s vulgar remarks and teasing. Eventually, this hookup leads to Maria becoming pregnant with Jonas’ daughter.

In Act II, Maria has a secret affair with Dondó just before Jonas tries to return to her and be a good father, creating intense emotional turmoil for him.
Jonas eventually discovers her infidelity when he finds a used condom “under her behind.” Fans often see her as a character who embodies desire, heartbreak, and obsession — someone whose love and need for control make her both compelling and destructive. Her presence in the story heightens the themes of betrayal, lust, and emotional instability.

MySpacecitation needed. The relationship between Jonas and Maria was based on Cuomo's relationship with Jennifer Chiba.
