Maria: Difference between revisions

[[Maria]] is a seductive and sharp-tongued character from Weezer’s Songs from the Black Hole. She is deeply in love with Captain Jonas and constantly misses him, often reminiscing about their fling or possible relationship at the Star Corps Academy. Their connection was never healthy — [[Jonas]] was mostly interested in the sex and even describes her as “too crazy to settle down with,” which only reinforces her “bad girl” persona Rivers intended. She’s described in [[No Other One]] as doing drugs, having two pet snakes, and a tattoo. Yet, he can’t seem to resist her temptation. Early in the story, [[Maria]] uses her emotions and charm to manipulate [[Jonas]], getting him to come to her pod to sleep with her and sniff glue [[Come To My Pod]] after making him protect her from [[Wuan]] and [[Dondó]]’s vulgar remarks and teasing. ([[Who Yoy Callin’ Bitch?]]) Eventually, this hookup leads to Maria becoming pregnant with Jonas’ daughter. In Rivers Cuomo’s discord during the discussion of a possible SFTBH II, Their daughter is referred to as “Luna”. In the sequel, [[Jonas]] finds his daughter after being lost in space for years. [[Dondó]] and [[Maria]] have been raising her.
