"A Postcard Home" 1992-02-12
To: CCMT Ma + Steve – had some time left before school so took off w a friend to Louisiana where we now sit waiting for his car to be fixed – the wheel almost broke off – writing postcards to friends and family before we continue on to New Orleans where we hoped to indulge in some Mardi Gras craziness but discovered too late that we are two weeks early too bad but we don’t really care because an adventure is an adventure and we’re young and stupid and very close to all the grandparents in Georgia all of whom I really want to see but unfortunately, due to time restrictions, won’t be able to, but no worry, because, without a doubt, I’ll be on the road soon again and you can bet Peachtree City will be a stop but by now the car is probably fixed so I must depart now that we’ve spent the last of our food and gas money on that damn wheel but fret not, for we are crafty and resourceful yet honest and these are just the characteristics required to avoid death or serious maiming in this crazy, crazy world that we live in.
