The Weezer Recording Chronology (WRC) is an attempt by Weezerpedia to create a successor to the Recording History, a detailed list of every demo, bootleg, and studio recording by the band Weezer and any directly associated bands, written by Karl Koch from the years of 2000 to 2011. Pages are separated by years.

This page details the years 2006 through 2008. It contains the recording sessions of Weezer (The Red Album), and events and recordings that led up to them.

2007

Deliverance at Hand!, Early 2007

In early 2007, Cuomo recorded a group of demos under the title Deliverance at Hand!, likely as a proof of concept for the upcoming album sessions.

First Weezer (The Red Album) recording sessions, Spring 2007

Beginning in April, the first bout of sessions began with Rick Rubin at the helm at his Shangri-La Studios in Malibu.

Final Weezer (The Red Album) recording sessions, Early 2008

Although the band had shown their finalized version of the album to the label, they received feedback that the album wasn't commercial friendly which led to these final sessions. The band this time teamed up with producer Jacknife Lee, finishing in February 2008.

Christmas with Weezer and early Raditude recording sessions, November 2008-February 2009

Recording sessions for Raditude began just a week after the Troublemaker Tour concluded. These sessions were produced by Jackknife Lee, early mixes by Lee were leaked online in 2017. Simultaneously to these sessions, Patrick Wilson and Scott Shriner recorded the instrumentals for Christmas with Weezer, an EP originally exclusive to a mobile game of the same name. Rivers Cuomo would overdub lead vocals, and Brian Bell would record background vocals for the standalone EP release, Red Album engineer Ken Sluiter has claimed production credit on this release.

The Raditude tracks would later have overdubs done at The Village Studios in December of 2008 and February 2009, and Sound City Studios sometime around this period. "Love is the Answer" would also have additional recording with Shawn Everett in Zeitgeist Studios.
