"Accidents" was written by Rivers Cuomo at his piano on March 6, 2018, as evidenced by a 14-minute recording of Cuomo working on the song, added to the digital demo compilation Alone XIII: The Pacific Daydream Black Years in July of 2024. Further demos were recorded, though have yet to be released to fans. The song is known to have been in early consideration for Weezer's forthcoming twentieth album.[1]
