The title "Happy Thanksgiving" was among hundreds of filenames appearing as dummy data on Rivers Cuomo's web store prior to its launch in 2020. On Thanksgiving Day of 2025, Cuomo changed the name of his Discord server to "s&r never released 'happy thanksgiving', did we? such a shame",[1] suggesting that the song was intended for the duo Scott & Rivers.
