The '''Steakhouse Demos''' were recordings Weezer made at Steakhouse Studios from [[October 21]], [[2001]] through [[October 27]], 2001.  These sessions were among the band's first concerted attempts at a fourth album, but none of the recordings would make it onto ''Maladroit''. During these sessions, the band played [[Weezer concert: 10/24/2001 - Los Angeles, CA|a live show at Hollywood's Knitting Factory]] on [[October 24]] under the pseudonym [[Goat Punishment]]. This show was filmed and broadcast on HBO as part of their concert series ''Reverb''. {{PN|Pat Wilson}} [[The Special Goodness]] performed [[The Special Goodness concert: 11/01/2002|its own show]] at the same venue on [[November 1]]. Beginning on [[November 2]], the band moved their work to [[Cello Demos|Cello Studios]], and continued the process of making the album, using some of the same recordings they had started at Steakhouse<ref>[[Recording History - Page 13#11/02-05/01 Cello Demos (continues Steak House Demo sessions)]]</ref>.
