Avant Garde's third demo, known as ''[[Somethin' Different!]]'', was recorded in January [[1989]] at Trod Nossel Studios in Wallingford, Connecticut. The tape was professionally duped and featured the songs and info printed directly onto the clear cassette, as well as a black and white J-card that had portrait photos of the whole band. At least 50 copies of this demo exist.
Later in the year, the band made a compilation of songs from their two most recent demo tapes entitled ''[[Somethin' Different!]]''. The tape was professionally duped and featured the songs and info printed directly onto the clear cassette, as well as a black and white J-card that had portrait photos of the whole band. At least 50 copies of this demo exist.

{{Karlification box|The third demo tape was entitled "Somethin' Different!". As were the first two, it was recorded in Connecticut, where the band lived then, but this time at Trod Nossel Studios. The tape was professionally duped and featured the songs and info printed directly onto the clear cassette, as well as a black and white J-card that had portrait photos of the whole band. I don't know how many copies they made, but I would guess at least 50, perhaps 100+.|[https://web.archive.org/web/20140519062941if_/http://daveandnikolai.com/wzr/classic/03_Recording_History/WeezRecHist1.html Weezer Recording History, Page 1]}}
