{{Quote|The show in Wichita totally rocked!  I am convinced that Bingo Arenas are very cool.
A local wichita band opened, and they were pretty cool.  Then, Weezer
played for probably an hour and a half.  AN HOUR AND A HALF!!!  They
Played all but three of the songs on their 2 albums, plus a couple
b-sides.  Towards the end of the show, they even set up for acoustic,
and did Butterfly and susanne.  That completely rocked!!
After the show, I hung around for a while with a friend and met Rivers.
He was being very, very fan appreciative.  It was probably close to an
hour after the show was over before we went around to the tour bus, and
he was still out talking to people and signing things.
While I was talking to him I decided to ask a few questions, you know,
since he's so cool.  I asked him when "Pink Triangle" was coming out,
and he said that he had no idea.  Then, right away, he said, "Actually,
I don't know if it even will come out."  I was way bummed about that,
but I think it's going to.  It has to.
After that, someone (might have been me) asked him what it was like
touring with No Doubt and if they were nice people.  Right away, he
said, "Oh, they're nice people, even nicer than us." I was surprised by
this, but then he said "but it's all an act."  I thought that was so
cool.  Rivers knockin' No Doubt kicked ass!!
I also asked him what music he was listening to on the tour bus, and he
said Dr. Octagon and something else that I can't remember.
The concert in wichita kicked total ass!!  Matt was being all crazy, as
was Rivers.  The funniest thing happened at the end of the show.  The
crowd had gotten it's little rest from the acoustic set, and Weezer
finished off the show with Surf Wax America.  At the end, after all of
it, they just started making noise.  Rivers started rubbing his guitar
against the mic stand to make noise.  Then he reached it out into the
crowd for them to make noise.  Weezer's roadie, Karl, apparently didn't
like this, because he ran out on the stage and started trying to grab
the guitar away from Rivers.  When Rivers noticed Karl, he just chucked
the guitar out into the crowd.  It was so cool!
I asked Rivers about this after the show, and he said that Karl was just
pissed because he had to fix the guitar if anything happened to it.  It
was hilarious.
The show in Kansas City was pretty cool, too, but No Doubt totally
sucked, and 1 1/2 hours kicks 45 minutes' ass every time.  There was
pretty good support for Weezer at the K.C. show, though, and they
actually sold out of a few Weezer shirts.|Austin Gill|Weezer-Rules mailing list, June 14, 1997}}
