I got into Weezer when I was 6 years old and my dad played me the Buddy Holly video from the Windows 95 CD. I had listened to weezer excessively until the 6th grade. They were my #1 and nothing compared. I experienced a falling out in 2006 and started listening to more indie bands like Dinosaur Jr. and Sebadoh. For some reason they didn't tick for me anymore.
