Deliverance At Hand! is an 18-track CD-R compilation of demos recorded in 2007 by Rivers Cuomo. It was presented to the rest of Weezer as potential songs for what would ultimately become The Red Album. "Pig," the first demo leaked that was known to be from this compilation, began circulating online in April of 2007. The demo generated considerable excitement among fans and music critics, and alongside the hoax surrounding Weezer's sixth album, contributed to a growing buzz online.
What I've Been Up to Since I Left School is an essay that Rivers Cuomo wrote when applying for readmission to Harvard in 2004. It touches upon his efforts to develop a formula for pop songwriting, his first forays into Vipassana meditation, and more. The text below is an excerpt - see the full article for the full essay.

The unofficial album art for the compilation would later be used for Weezer's Death to False Metal compilation.

After the initial failure of my band’s second album, Pinkerton, I decided not to return to school in the fall of 1997, instead setting out on a mission to develop creative methods which would allow me to be more consistent as an artist. Above all, I wanted to cure myself of the Romanticism which I believed was to blame for my failure.

Several of its songs were eventually recorded by Weezer and released on studio albums, including "Pig," "King," and "Miss Sweeney." Others, including "My Day is Coming" and "I Don't Want to Let You Go" were released on Cuomo's Alone album series. "Piece of the Pie" has appeared as a leaked demo, and a number of songs have never been heard by fans in any form.
Throughout 1998 and 1999 I engaged in hundreds of song-experiments. I filled notebooks and cassette tapes. I drew graphs, tables, and charts. I studied other songwriters’ methods. I took hundreds of pages of notes on the creative process, mostly from Nietzsche, but also from Goethe and Stravinsky.

At first, I maintained a relatively normal social life, playing and coaching soccer and continuing my classical piano studies with Bruce Sutherland. Eventually, however, I became more and more isolated. I unplugged my phone. I painted the walls and ceiling of my bedroom black and covered the windows with fiberglass insulation. I disciplined myself to the extreme. My goal was to purge myself of all weakness so that I could write “perfect” songs as reliably as a machine.
