Well, the guest list was very small, and while thousands applied, only a few hundred could get in to this exclusive and secret show at the Roxy. The show was officially a taping for Yahoo! and Activision's Guitar Hero 5, the results of which will debut this coming Friday 9/25 on Yahoo!. So there were a pile of TV cameras filming the proceedings, and you can see what you may have missed soon.

The set was a compact version of the Bleezer show set, cut down to roughly half an hour. But the energy on stage and in the crowd was very high indeed! And a new song was slipped in, "I'm Your Daddy", which hadn't been heard live since the Korea and Japan festival shows back in July and the Saratoga Springs "unexpected headliner" show a few weeks back. Everything went great, although the ending of the show was unintentionally anti-climactic, as it was not made clear by the powers that be that the end of the show was really the end of the show, so chants for an encore went down as the proverbial Elvis had already left the building. But all was well that ended well, and there ain't nothing wrong with a free Weezer show at the Roxy during one's lunch break!

It's been a long time since Weezer played here. Back in summer 1993 they played the main stage (looks a lot smaller now!) and later in December '93 they played the upstairs "On The Rox" lounge, site of today's pre-show interview. Since then...? Like I said, it's been a loooong time...
