Rewind (sometimes displayed with a subtitle as Rewind: A Timeless Melody) is an unfinished, unreleased album concept by Rivers Cuomo for Weezer's twentieth album (hereafter referred to as Album 20 or A20)

Rewind was devised early in Album 20's planning stages, during which Cuomo was proposing reutilizing the Songs from the Black Hole concept, or developing a sequel to it. Rewind was pitched as an alternative concept, using many already existing demos as a part of its story. Cuomo has admitted to using ChatGPT to create the concept.[1]
Overview
On April 25, 2023, Rivers Cuomo created a thread on his discord server detailing a basic plot outline for Rewind.[a] revolving around a young musician named Alex (played by Cuomo) who finds a time travelling Discman and interacts with a world-famous pop star from the present day via handwritten letters.[2] Cuomo claims the idea evolved from a folder of 25 songs he had previously written since the release of SZNZ: Winter in December 2022. Three are known so far, "Deja Vu", "Popstar", and "Forget Yesterday".[3][4]
Cuomo let the thread run for another day, before closing it and letting discussion merge into one larger thread discussing Album 20.[citation needed] Rewind would slowly be mentioned less and less as the concept behind the album evolved.
