The first time i heard buddy holly my life changed for the better, it felt so good, i was sitting on my bed, fumbling around with the radio dial and the airwaves crackled, then it happened-the opening chords of buddy holly burst forth, just hearing rivers cuomo made me want MORE. I NEED MORE BUDDY HOLLY, i closed my eyes and let weezer - buddy holly wash over me, the rhythm became my hearbeat and i synced with the pulse of buddy holly, i felt connected to the universe, felt like i was apart of something bigger

i knew little about buddy holly back then, it was just a name from the past, a legend lsot in the annals of rock history, but as rivers sang "Oo-ee-oo i look just like buddy holly" i felt like i was both rivers and buddy at the same time, i felt like i looked like them, i felt them inside of me. like we were ONE

From that day forward whenever i felt sad. buddy holly became my secret weapon for dealing with hard times, i would just put on my headphones and hit play, it instantly made me feel better, just hearing rivers sing.

buddy holly isnt just a song its much more than just a song, i felt like i had no purpose before, but now after hearing buddy holly, i feel fulfilled, like i am apart of something bigger

despite the dissin, she is still buddy hollys girl. and thats for all the time ALL. eternity. because their love transends the moral lifespan, and now is immortalized in "buddy holly" weezer

Now this part is what struck me. its not just rivers who looks like buddy holly, but we all look like rivers, who looks like buddy holly

all of us who listened to buddy holly is BUDDY HOLLY. we all are connected as one, and we transcend this moral life, our life is combined.

this reinforces the idea, we need a guardian, and that guardian is buddy holly himself.
