Album is Shufflepuck first and only full-length record. Despite being professionally recorded and supported by Interscope Records, it was never released, until August 23rd, 2024, under Mos Eisley Music.
Album (originally produced as a self-titled release, Shufflepuck) is the debut album by the alternative rock band Shufflepuck. The band's eponymous record was produced for Interscope Records—intended for release in 1996—but never saw release. A remastered version was produced in 2024 and released on August 23, 2024, under Mos Eisley Music.

Overview
Led by longtime Weezer collaborators Adam Orth and Justin Fisher, Shufflepuck attained some recognition in the LA rock scene in the early 90's. They were eventually signed to Interscope Records. Sometime after finishing the album, however, the record deal did not pan out. As Orth describes on his website under a list of his professional experiences:
In the early 90s, Shufflepuck recorded a demo tape at 4th Street Recording in Santa Monica with producer Jim Wirt. The band subsequently got the attention of Interscope Records, who signed the band to a multi-album contract.Days into recording their debut album, however, the band's A&R representative "disappeared." "So, the Shufflepuck record was done," recalled frontman Adam Orth in 2024, "and then Interscope sat on it for a year. They just kept pushing the release date back because Marilyn Manson, No Doubt, Nine Inch Nails and Toadies—plus everything at Death Row—was exploding. Interscope literally just didn't have time to devote to us."
<blockquote>Secured multi-album recording contract under legendary recording industry executive Tom Whalley. Wrote, recorded and produced 1 full-length record for Interscope. Performed internationally to support.</blockquote>

The story is elaborated on in a fan-hosted YouTube playlist of the album. The veracity of this story is unverified:
The album's lead single, "Where the Hell Is She," appeared on the 1998 compilation CD, Hear You Me! A Tribute to Mykel and Carli.
<blockquote>Everything was looking good until their A&R guy left and the band quickly became a non-priority at the label - causing several release dates to pass without the album seeing the light of day.  By '97 Shufflepuck had gotten out of their Interscope contract, but by that point few other labels were interested, and the band broke up on stage at a show not long after.Citation needed</blockquote>

Orth subsequently dissolved the band. About a decade later, he destroyed the album's master tapes. "I had the 2-inch master tapes for the record in a closet for about 10 years and finally disposed of them because I had moved a couple times and I was so sick of carrying them around." Orth said in a 2024 interview, "I often think back to the day when I threw them out in a dumpster in downtown Los Angeles and regret that choice every time."
In 2024, the song appeared on the compilation album Generation Blue, a multimedia project curated by S.W. Lauden (a pen name for former Ridel High drummer Steve Coulter). Shufflepuck reunited to perform at a launch party for the compilation. Later that year, Orth utilized session DATs and CD-R masters to remaster the album (now titled simply Album) for release on music streaming platforms, as well as a limited-edition vinyl release.
