Jonas is the protagonist of ''SFTBH'', intended to have been voiced by Weezer lead singer [[Rivers Cuomo]]. Jonas is the insecure captain of the ship [[#Betsy II|Betsy II]] and a top graduate from the Star Corps Academy. Jonas' insecurities about the group's mission were intended to mirror Cuomo's own insecurities about his then-unfolding rock star life.<ref name="pinkertondiaries" /><ref name="alonelinernotes">''[[Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo]]'', [[Alone liner notes|liner notes]]</ref> In the story as depicted in the demoed songs for ''SFTBH'', Jonas is somewhat promiscuous, sleeping with [[#Maria|Maria]] after clearly stating to her that he would not ("[[Come to My Pod]]"). Jonas later falls in love with [[#Laurel|Laurel]] ("[[Superfriend]]") and subsequently discovers that he has fathered a child with Maria ("[[She Had a Girl]]").
