A bit more Rivers info: I got a hold of him, and he sounded good! He is indeed planning on turning his new garage into a little home studio (apparently his neighborhood is pretty quiet and wouldnt take well to loud rock n roll). And he explained his isolation of the last year (no radio listening, no parties, no shows, no music-shopping) as essential for his songwriting, something he didn't realize earlier. And he is pleased with the results! Songs (that he likes) are, in fact, being written.
