"Please Let That Be You" is listed as "Jamie II" on the Weezer Recording History, and like "Jamie", is an ode to Jamie Young, the band's lawyer at the time of their signing to Geffen Records.  Sharp initially wrote the bulk of the song, then later asked Cuomo for help with "some parts and harmonies" as the Recording History states.
The earlier version of the track is listed as "Jamie II" on the Weezer Recording History, and like "Jamie", these earlier lyrics are an ode to Jamie Young, the band's lawyer at the time of their signing to Geffen Records.  Sharp wrote the bulk of the song, but for the recording asked Rivers Cuomo for help with "some parts and harmonies" as the recording history states.

There has been speculation as to whether or not "Mrs. Young" was intended as a Weezer track, and more specifically, for the project Songs from the Black Hole. Whatever the case may be, the song was recorded by Matt as a demo for The Rentals, and was eventually rewritten as "Please Let That Be You" and included on the band's debut album. Demo recordings of "Mrs. Young" can be found on The Rentals' 2001 fan club-exclusive release Excellent Stocking Stuffer.
"Mrs.Young" was, at one point, considered a Weezer track and was going to accompany "Jamie" on an independantly released single. However, with the band signing to Geffen records, plans for the single were scrapped.

The song was recorded by Matt as a demo for The Rentals, and was eventually rewritten as "Please Let That Be You" and included on the band's debut album. The melody and chords are the same in both versions, but the lyrics and aesthetics differ, with "Please Let That Be You" being more synth based.

At Cuomo and Sharp's reunion performance show at Cal State Fullerton, the original incarnation, "Mrs. Young", was performed live. This performance can be viewed on YouTube.  During this time, the two were working together on a collaborative project, which never came to fruition.
