"This Is Such a Pity" is the fourth single and third track from Make Believe.
"Colorado" is a single by The Rentals released on September 27, 2008 as a precursor to Songs About Time.

This song employs the use of a Casio keyboard and has an 80s, Cars-like feel to it. Weezer lead singer Rivers Cuomo has expressed that "Pity" is his favorite song on the record.
"Colorado" was a single-only release, meaning it is not featured on any of The Rentals' albums. Like many other songs in the band's discography, the song features extensive use of synthesizers and female vocal harmony. This was the first release by the band to include vocalist Jamie Blake. The song's intro is a collage of strings and synthesizer. The band attempted many nontraditional methods of recording for this song, some of which include the drum beats programmed into a keyboard and drumming with drum sticks on the floor of the studio.

The song was released in early 2006 as Make Believe's fourth single, but only at the promotional level.  No video or retail singles were produced.
"A few words about Colorado from Matt & The Rentals" was posted by The Rentals on their MySpace about "Colorado." It describes how the song was written, recorded, and chosen for release.

In the live performance for the Japanese Across The Sea DVD and TV special, guitarist Brian Bell introduces a new move: "The Power Rise."
Curiously, multiple artists from Scandinavian countries have 'borrowed' elements of this song for use in their own material.  One case in particular sounds almost exactly the same, down to the vocal melodies, but the lyrics are not a direct translation of the original English lyrics.  None of these examples list Cuomo as a songwriter of paid any royalties to him.
"This Is Such a Pity" shares its Catalog Of Riffs number with an early Album 5 demo track, "She Who Is Militant".  The songs only share a mild similarity in one chord progression.  Also listed with the same COR were other songs, assumed to share different elements of "This is Such a Pity" and "She Who Is Militant" as well as other unheard sections.
