"Ooh" is the first track from "Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo". It was previously unheard before the album's release.
" | The inspiration for "Ooh" came when Rivers Cuomo went to the Philharmonic’s performance of Mahler's third symphony sometime in 1992. Cuomo reported that his "mind was blown." After seeing the performance, he "resolved to incorporate the more complex arrangements and countermelodies of classical music in [his] rock songs." Said Cuomo, "So I wrote this little vocal piece as an exercise. It's a rip-off of Smetan's Moldau but what can you do."
On the recording, Cuomo's fingers can faintly be heard snapping. This was done to serve as a metronome and keep his vocal takes "somewhat in line."
