"Everyone" is the fifth track on Death to False Metal.

Said Rivers Cuomo, "it was just too hardcore, heavy-metal to be on a Weezer record at the time. That’s why we set it aside. So I worked on that some more recently in the studio, and put some crazy vocal moments on it."
Overview
August 1998 sessions
"Everyone" is a hiatus-era recording, initially recorded in August of 1998 at Mouse House Studios in Los Angeles, engineered by Rich Mouser. This same session produced "Velouria", released on the Where Is My Mind? A Tribute To The Pixies album in 1999. However, as Karl Koch notes in the recording histroy, "Apparently the 'non-Velourias' didn't come out too good. This is apparently due to the songs being somewhat unfinished at the time of recording."

Death to False Metal
The 1998 recording was revisited for the Death to False Metal album, with additional overdubs added to the track in 2009 or 2010. It's known Rivers added a new guitar solo section as well as additional vocals. The bass track was redone by current Weezer bassist Scott Shriner to reflect the revised song structure (the original recording featured Mikey Welsh on bass).

Rivers Cuomo described the song as, "... just too hardcore, heavy-metal to be on a Weezer record at the time. That’s why we set it aside. So I worked on that some more recently in the studio, and put some crazy vocal moments on it." Scott Shriner expressed a fondness of the track via Facebook comments upon the album's release. In a July 2011 interview with Mikey Welsh, upon being told the song had made an album, Mikey laughed in response.

The song is thought to be partially inspired by the early material of Nirvana. It's known that Rivers was studying the work of Nirvana in the late 90s in an attempt to refine his songwriting.
