"Trampoline" is a hiatus-era recording. It was recorded at the same sessions as "Velouria" and was released on the 2010 album Death to False Metal.
"Trampoline" is the seventh track on Death to False Metal.

According to Rivers, a new bridge and guitar solo were added in 2009 or 2010 to the 1998 recording.
Overview
August 1998 sessions
"Trampoline" is a hiatus-era recording, initially recorded in August of 1998 at Mouse House Studios in Los Angeles, engineered by Rich Mouser. This same session produced "Velouria", released on the Where Is My Mind? A Tribute To The Pixies album in 1999. However, as Karl Koch notes in the recording histroy, "Apparently the 'non-Velourias' didn't come out too good. This is apparently due to the songs being somewhat unfinished at the time of recording."

The recording history originally noted two takes being recorded at this session: a "sped up" version and a "normal" version. After several years, these notes were removed, with only one take being listed. It's possible differing "normal" and "sped up" arrangements existed on other tapes from this era, and it's not known which arrangement was the released one.

Death to False Metal
The 1998 recording was revisited for the Death to False Metal album, with additional overdubs added to the track in 2009 or 2010. According to Rivers, a new bridge and guitar solo section were added, with the backing vocals seemingly being a recent addition as well. The bass track was redone by current Weezer bassist Scott Shriner to reflect the revised song structure (the original recording featured Mikey Welsh on bass).

Inspiration
In a 2011 interview, Karl Koch states, "But then there were the more slow tempo 'big huge Oasis rock' style songs, like 'Trampoline' I think." Rivers was known to have been studying Oasis' songs in the late 90s in an attempt to further refine his songwriting.
