A song called "Weekend Girl" was demoed for [[Everything Will Be Alright in the End]] but was unused. In interviews leading up to the release of [[Pacific Daydream]], [[Rivers]] stated he was trying to not use the word "girl" as much in his songs, presumably the reason for the change from "Weekend Girl" to "Weekend Woman." The verses are a lyrical reworking of "[[Burning Sun]]."

The verses use the same melody as the [[Green Album]] outtake "[[Burning Sun]]." Rumor has it, during the [[Everything Will Be Alright in the End]] sessions, [[Ric Ocasek]] asked [[Rivers]] to revisit some of his favorite unused [[Green Album]] compositions from the last time he worked with the band. One of these was "[[Burning Sun]]," which was reworked into "Weekend Woman," and another was an unknown song which was reworked into "[[Lonely Girl]]."
