'''''Weezer (The Black Album)''''' was planned as the follow-up album to 2016's ''[[Weezer (The White Album)]]''. The album was mentioned by Rivers in several interviews [http://www.upsetmagazine.com/news/read/rivers-cuomo-talks-about-weezers-gritty-black-album/] following the release of ''[[Weezer (The White Album)|The White Album]]''. Confirmation of a summer release date came with the release of "[[Feels Like Summer]]" on March 16, 2017. Instead ''[[Pacific Daydream]]'' was announced as Weezer's next album in August. But according to Cuomo, ''The Black Album'' is still coming. In an interview with Dazed, Rivers indicated a hope that the album would be out in May of 2018 and that it's almost done. As of February 2nd, Rivers has stated on an Austraulian Radio show that The Black Album is coming May 25th 2017, he also stated it's very similar to [[Pinkerton]] writing wise as [[Pacific Daydream]] is the modern day [[Homie]]. | |||
