The song originally appeared under the title "[[本音なんだ。]]" (translated: "''Real Intention''") on the sophomore album "[[ニマイメ]]" (''Naimaime'') by [[Scott & Rivers]] in 2017.  
The Japanese version of the song heard on the Scott & Rivers album was released in [[2017]], with the English version by Weezer following in [[2019]]. Both versions contain virtually the same lyrical content. It is currently unknown which version was written first. The song was a collaboration between Rivers Cuomo and musician/producer [[David Hodges]]. [[Scott Murphy]] also receives a writing credit on the Japanese version, with songwriter [[Ammar Malik]] receiving a credit on the English version.
