Weezer guitarist Brian Bell would later rework the song into a demo for his band [[Relationship|The Relationship]] titled [[Hand to Hold]]. "Private Message" was one of the first post-[[Maladroit]] [[Weezer]] songs to be uploaded to fans, released before Maladroit was even in stores.
