I Do: Difference between revisions

"I Do", along with "[[Always]]" is an unusual ''Green''-era track by [[Weezer]], in that it does not feature the full band on the recording.  It was released as a B-side and as a bonus cut on some international editions of ''Green'', and was performed live at every show during the [[Yahoo Outloud Tour]], as the set's opening number.

I Do has received mixed reviews from fans. It is often condemned as a musical ripoff of Billy Joel's 1989 song Leningrad. The piano melody from the intro of that song is very musically similar to the vocal melody of I Do. Another common criticism of the song is that Cuomo's vocal delivery is nasal and unenjoyable. For some fans, however, I Do is very well-liked, because of how [[Green#Reception|different]] it is from many other of the songs from the Green Album era. It was included in The Grand Playlist of the Weezer songblog [[Teenage Victory Songs]], which is a playlist designated only for higher-tier songs.
