Overview
"Slob" was originally part of the SS2K batch of songs, but was resurrected during the Maladroit sessions at the urging of fans. It seems to have been considered for single release, but did not acheive such a status.
"Slob" was originally written in 2000 as part of the "Summer Songs 2000 batch of songs. A live soundboard recording of the song performed at The Troubadour on July 30, 2000 was released to fans online as part of an "official" SS2K album by Rivers Cuomo on November 11, 2001. At the urging of fans, "Slob" was brought back and included on Weezer's next album, Maladroit, in 2002. Said Cuomo in a 2002 interview with Guitar World: "I never would have thought to put the song "Slob" on the record if the fans did not request it." Cuomo was asked about the song's writing process during the same interview:

In 2003, Karl Koch assembled a music video for the song out of prerecorded footage. The video contains lots of live performances and footage of Rivers Cuomo playing the song. Notably, the video contains footage of the then-existing Rivers Correspondence Board, which Cuomo frequented during the Maladroit album cycle.

I won't pick up the phone.
I won't pick up the phone
And I won't listen to messages
And I won't listen to messages
Sent by someone who calls up and says.

I don't like how you're living my life.
I don't like how you're living my life.

Get yourself a wife.

Get yourself a job.
Get yourself a job
You're living in a dream.
You're living in a dream
Don't you be a slob.
Don't you be a slob

Leave me again.
Leave me again
Don't hang out in my den.
Don't hang out in my den
Waiting for little clues to appear

That I drank some of granddaddy's beer.
