The Dawn is a song played live at various points prior to the release of Maladroit, notably on the Hyper-Extended Midget Tour, which ran from late 2001 until early 2002. The only versions of the song are live recordings, with no studio demos currently in circulation. However, a similar opening guitar riff from "The Dawn" would be used in the 2002 demo "Hey Domingo"!
"The Dawn" is an unreleased song by Weezer.
Overview
The Catalog O' Riffs lists the song as having been first written on July 20, 2001. The song shares its single-verse structure with the song "Your Room", apparently written a day later.

"Your Room" is first known to have been demoed during the recording sessions at Sage & Sound Studios in Hollywood from August 29 through September 8, 2001, the first sessions to feature bassist Scott Shriner. The song was demoed several times over the next several months. The song was included with the "Black album" sets of demos recorded at Steakhouse Studios and Cello Studios. The song made its live debut during a performance by the band for the HBO show Reverb (wherein the band performed as "Goat Punishment") at The Knitting Factory in Hollywood, though the performance of "The Dawn" did not air. The song continued to be performed during the Hyper-Extended Midget Tour and was included in most setlists throughout the remainder of the year, frequently as the opening song. Karl Koch uploaded soundboard recordings of some of these performances to Weezer.com. The song was performed for the final time on December 11 and was, apparently, abandoned shortly thereafter, as it was not attempted during the sessions for Maladroit, which began a few days later on the 16th.

During live performances, Rivers Cuomo would often conclude the song by saying to the audience "Good morning", despite concerts typically being played at night. The December 6 soundboard recording of the song begins with Cuomo saying "I like the way you smack my ass", in a reference to the song "Control" by Puddle of Mudd.

To date, no studio recordings of "The Dawn" exist in circulation, only live bootlegs and soundboard recordings. However, a similar opening guitar riff to that of the one used in "The Dawn" would be used in the 2002 demo "Hey Domingo!", which also shares a COR# with the song "Peace", which appeared on the band's 2005 album Make Believe.
