"Faith in the Light" (formerly titled "Everybody Depends on a Friend") is an unreleased Weezer song.

Overview
"Faith in the Light" was originally demoed during sessions at Steakhouse Studios and Cello Studios in late October and early November of 2001. The song was debuted live on the HBO show Reverb, wherein the band performed at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood on October 24, 2001, under the name "Goat Punishment". The song was subsequently performed live at a handful of shows in November of 2001. Two soundboard recordings of the song from these shows were posted by Karl Koch to the band's official website. The song was played for the final time on November 17 and, apparently, discarded thereafter, as it was not attempted during the sessions for Maladroit, which began the following month.

<poem>Everybody depends on a friend
<poem>Everybody depends on a friend
to hide their face from the sun
To hide their face from the sun
In the morning when things haven't changed
In the morning, when things haven't changed,
your world is coming undone
Your world is coming undone

And everywhere that you go
And everywhere that you go
your nose is starting to grow
Your nose is starting to grow
You lose your faith in the light
You lose your faith in the light
and that's ok
OK
yeah, that's ok
OK

Everybody is climbing a tree
Everybody looks up to the stars
to show the way to the stars
To find the things that they need
In the morning when things haven't changed
Hanging over their heads in the night
Your world is taking too far
And now they're looking to me

And everywhere that you go
And everywhere that you go
your nose is starting to grow
Your nose is starting to grow
You lose your faith in the light
You lose your faith in the light
and that's ok
OK
yeah, that's ok
OK

Come on baby won't you tell me again
Come on, baby, won't you tell me again?
I just want you to tell me you care
I just want you to tell me you can
After everything we've been through
After everything we've been through
my heart will make it up to you
My heart will make it up to you
'cause I couldn't stand the pain
I couldn't stand the pain

And everywhere that you go
Everybody looks up to the stars
your nose is starting to grow
To find the things that they need
You lose your faith in the light
To find the things that they need
and that's ok
</poem>
yeah, that's ok

Come on baby won't you tell me again
Earlier lyrics
I just want you to tell me you care
<poem>
After everything we've been through
Everybody is climbing a tree
my heart will make it up to you
to show the way to the stars
'cause I couldn't stand the pain
In the morning, when things haven't changed,
Your world is taken too far

Everbody looks up to the light
Everbody looks up to the light
to show the way to the stars
To show the way to the stars
to show the way to the stars
To show the way to the stars
to show their way to the stars
To show their way to the stars
</poem>
</poem>
