The ''Christmas CD'' was recorded in November of [[2000]] at [[Rivers Cuomo]]'s home studio (with additional work done at Cello Studios) right before the band headed into the studio to record ''[[The Green Album]]''. The CD was sent to radio stations and original [[Weezer Fan Club]] members only as a seasonal surprise. The songs were later uploaded as MP3s in the A/V section of [[weezer.com]]. In [[2005]], the tracks were released through the iTunes music store under the title '''''Winter Weezerland''''' with new album cover art. The album art for ''Winter Weezerland'' is actually the original back cover of the Christmas CD, and features Cuomo in a Santa Claus suit standing on the roof of his home. The song "[[The Christmas Song]]" was partially re-recorded for this release, and features slightly altered lyrics from the version found on ''[[Kevin and Bean: The Real Slim Santa]]''. | |||
