The idea to record songs for the iPhone application ''Tap Tap Revenge'' came from [[Pat Wilson]], an iPhone owner himself. The recordings are unique for Weezer because all of the guitars and drums are performed by Wilson. It is assumed that Weezer's bassist, [[Scott Shriner]], played bass. A photo posted in November [[2008]] on [[weezer.com]] of Wilson and Shriner at Starbucks when the recordings would have been made seems to confirm this. Later, frontman [[Rivers Cuomo]] recorded lead vocals separately. After the application was released, additional enhancements were made to the songs and they were re-released online as a digital EP.
