Hear You Me! A Tribute to Mykel and Carli is a compilation album released in 1998 on Vast Records in tribute to Mykel and Carli Allan, founders of the Weezer Fan Club. The Allan sisters had passed away in a car crash in July of the previous year.
Goat Punishment is a pseudonym that has been employed by Weezer in the past, when the band played small, semi-secret club dates in the Los Angeles area.

In the wake of the sisters' untimely passing, a tribute/benefit concert was organized to help the Allan family with the high funeral costs.  The show featured friends of the Allan sisters that dog., Black Market Flowers, and was headlined by Weezer. The successful but somber event was held at the Palace Theater in Hollywood on August 15, 1997. The concert, in turn, inspired the album. The album contained mostly rare or unreleased tracks by bands that were friends or acquaintances of the sisters and/or Weezer, or who just plain wanted to help out.
The name "Goat Punishment" was made up by Jon Williams of the band Volcano Suns. The name was then suggested to Mikey Welsh by his friend Todd Philips (formerly of Bullet LaVolta and Juliana Hatfield's band). Weezer first used the name at two club shows in 1998, which consisted solely of Nirvana and Oasis covers, respectively. Pat was either taking a break from the band or out of town at the time, so Philips sat in on drums.

From the album's liner notes:
The name was revived in late 2000, and again in late 2001, for a series of shows at small venues. The pupose of these shows were usually to practice a setlist for an upcoming opening slot, or work on new material in front of a live audience. By the end of the 2001 run of shows, the psuedonym became rather common knowledge, partly because Los Angeles-area radio station KROQ leaked the news on several occasions. To date, there have been nine total shows that Weezer has performed under the Goat Punishment name.
