The worst job I ever had was selling Cutco high-quality kitchen cutlery. I'm not cut out to be a salesman.

==Ilizarov Procedure==
The operation I had in 1995 to correct my unequal leg length. They cut my femur in half and put my leg in a steel-frame; each day I would turn some screws on the frame so that it would extend and increase the space in the break in my bone. After 13 months that space filled in and my leg was longer. Two months in I was back out on the road with Weezer, stumbling around with a cane.

The Lisa referred to in the song "Oh | The Lisa referred to in the 1995 song "Lisa" (not to be confused with the Green Album b-side, "Oh Lisa"). She was our manager's daughter. She did day to day management for the band in 1993-1995. Note all the "girl name" songs I wrote in that era were about women in the industry who worked with Weezer, Jaime Young, Lisa Cavalla, Susanne Filkins.

==Quién Como Tú== | |||
A song by the Mexican artist Ana Gabriel. We played this song in Corona Capital 2014. I became familiar with this song when I was the head of the 'World Music' department at Tower records sunset in 1989-1990. I've loved it ever since.

==Rick Rubin== | |||
Was our producer on Make Believe. It was on his advice that I started meditating again. I noted his suggestion in my essay, “ What I've Been Up To Since I Left School,” when applying for readmission to Harvard:
“During this latest swing towards spirituality, however, I started a practice at Rick Rubin's suggestion which may help me achieve some balance: meditation. I was averse to the idea, initially. My goal in trying all the crazy experiments in my life has always been to improve, maintain, or recover my connection to music. Meditation, it seemed to me, would rob me of the angst that I believed was an essential precondition to that connection. With little to lose, however, I took the chance. I experienced immediate benefits."
I also appeared briefly in Rick’s docu-series, Shangri-La (episode 4: Belief), where we talked about meditation and how Rick found his Shangri-La compound.

==Tower Records== | |||
I started working at Tower Anaheim after the breakup of Zoom in 1990 when I was living with Lisa in Fullerton. I got turned onto Public Enemy.
In the summer I transferred to Tower Sunset.
I found a lot of music that ended up being really influential to me. This was where I heard Nirvana, Pixies, the Beach Boys. This is where I got to know Pat Finn, and through him, the Weezer guys.

I took some trampoline clases with Kyoko’s and my family in Japan. I enjoyed it so much that I added a trampoline to our concert set for the next several years. I also have a trampoline in my backyard. | I took some trampoline clases with Kyoko’s and my family in Japan.
