A Wuggie (or Weezer Snuggie) is a Weezer-branded Snuggie, a type of sleeved-blanket that gained notoriety in the late 2000s. It is identical to a Snuggie, however it says "Weezer" on it in the traditional Weezer font. Wuggies exist in three colors, blue, teal, and burgundy.

Said Rivers Cuomo, "A Wuggie is basically exactly like a Snuggie, except it says Weezer on it. The people at Snuggie are doing it with us and promoting it with us. It’s a totally legit Snuggie." He is also quoted as saying, "it's hard to understand the appeal of this product." In explaining the promotion to NPR in November of 2009, Rivers Cuomo said, "Well, like Weezer, Snuggies are just this weird, cool product that everyone seems to like. They're really popular, and you can't really figure out why. So we figured it's a good match."

Rivers Cuomo explains, "A Wuggie is basically exactly like a Snuggie, except it says Weezer on it. The people at Snuggie are doing it with us and promoting it with us. It’s a totally legit Snuggie." He is also quoted as saying, "it's hard to understand the appeal of this product."
To promote the product, the members of Weezer starred in a variation of the original Snuggie® commercial. The Weezer Snuggie was sold with a CD copy of Raditude as a bonus. It was available through phone-order and on weezer.com.
Press release
Alternative rock band Weezer and Allstar Products Group, marketer and distributor of the Snuggie, America’s favorite “blanket with sleeves,” have joined forces to create the official Weezer Snuggie. It will be launched today and will bear the band’s trademark “Weezer” logo. This latest addition to the Snuggie collection will allow fans of the band to stay warm while keeping their hands free to rock out. And rock out they will; fans who purchase a Weezer Snuggie blanket will also receive a copy of the band’s brand-new album, Raditude, as a bonus gift.

The Wuggie is an example of Weezer embracing internet culture and trends, as the pervasive Snuggie advertisements on television had attained a sort of meme-like status online.
To promote Raditude and the Weezer Snuggie, Weezer performed on the Late Show with David Letterman while wearing Weezer Snuggies.

Interestingly, two of the Wuggie colors could potentially correspond to a Weezer album that existed at the time of Wuggie's inception. The blue Wuggie evokes Weezer (The Blue Album) and the burgundy Wuggie evokes Weezer (The Red Album), leaving the teal Wuggie out. However, Weezer would release Weezer (The Teal Album) nearly a decade after the Wuggie.

Publicity
The most enduring piece of publicity for the Wuggie is a television advertisement, very similar in format to traditional Snuggie advertisements, but featuring members of Weezer wearing the article of clothing.

The press statement on the Wuggie read as follows: "Alternative rock band Weezer and Allstar Products Group, marketer and distributor of the Snuggie, America’s favorite “blanket with sleeves,” have joined forces to create the official Weezer Snuggie. It will be launched today and will bear the band’s trademark “Weezer” logo. And rock out they will; fans who purchase a Weezer Snuggie blanket will also receive a copy of the band’s brand-new album, Raditude, as a bonus gift."

To promote Raditude and the Wuggie, Weezer performed on the Late Show with David Letterman while wearing Wuggies.

Various journalists commented snidely on the ironic nature of the Wuggie.

Legacy
The Wuggie is an object of fascination for many hardcore Weezer fans, due to a combination of factors, including the ironic quality of the item and its rarity.

As of 2020, the Wuggie goes for as much as $500 on eBay, and people offering to sell their Wuggies are rare.
