Fencecover.png"Let's Sew Our Pants Together" is the second track from Weezer's first demo. The same recording was later added to the track list of The Kitchen Tape demo.
Weezer The Red Album.jpg"Heart Songs" is the fourth track off of The Red Album.

The song was, according to the Catalog O' Riffs, written near to the formation of Weezer around February or March of 1992. It is first known to have been performed live at 8121 Club in Los Angeles. The song continued to be performed at various Weezer shows throughout the spring, and was one of three songs recorded for the band's first demo in May of 1992. According to Karl Koch's article in Weezine Issue #3, the recording from this demo is the same that appears on Weezer's second demo (The Kitchen Tape). The song is not known to have been performed by Weezer after the summer of 1992, though Cuomo played the song over the video streaming platform Ustream on August 19, 2011.
The song was written as an ode to all the artists and records that have influenced Rivers Cuomo over his life, from Gordon Lightfoot's "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" when Cuomo was 5 years old, to Nirvana's Nevermind in 1991. The bridge of the song briefly describes the formation of Weezer. Cuomo stated that "Heart Songs" was written in March of 2006 and demo'ed in August of 2006. On his honeymoon in Japan that year, he had a sudden burst of inspiration. At 1 p.m. everyday he would get on his "crazy Japanese bike" and ride for about ten minutes down to the local mega-mall. On the third floor were studios that can be rented for five dollars an hour, with drums and a soundboard. Cuomo explained that he would record his new songs (which included "Heart Songs" and "My Day is Coming"), and when finished, exit "into the midst of a Japanese mega-mall".
