==Overview== | |||
Rivers Cuomo recorded several partial sketches of "Disco Queen" throughout 1998. Weezer recorded a demo of "Disco Queen" with producer Rich Mouser at the Mouse House Studio in Los Angeles in August of 1998 (one of the first studio sessions to feature bassist Mikey Welsh), the same session that yielded the band's cover of "Velouria" by the Pixies for the compilation Where Is My Mind?: A Tribute to the Pixies. As Karl Koch noted in the Weezer Recording History, however, "apparently the "non-Velourias" didn't come out too good." Several of Cuomo's sketches for the song were released as part of the digital compilation Alone VI: The Black Room in 2020, though the full-band recording remains unheard. | |||
