The song continued to be demoed at [[Steakhouse Demos|Steakhouse Studios]] and [[Cello Demos|Cello Studios]], being featured as part of a set of demos jokingly referred to by the band as "''[[The Black Album (2001)|The Black Album]]''". [[Weezer]] (performing under the name "[[Goat Punishment]]") performed "We Go Together" at a concert recorded for the [[Weezer concert: 10/24/2001 - Los Angeles, CA|HBO television program ''Reverb'']], which some fans consider the definitive version. It was later recorded during the sessions for ''[[Maladroit]]'', with one version being released as an MP3 on the band's official website. The song did not, ultimately, make the cut for ''Maladroit''.
