Overview
Overview
When the official Weezer Fan Club was started by Mykel and Carli Allan in late 1994, one of the first orders of business was to establish a quarterly zine to serve as the primary source of band news for the dedicated fan. The original Weezine ran for twelve issues before the Allan sisters were tragically killed following a Weezer show in July of 1997.  Karl Koch made a valiant effort to keep the fan club going following the tragedy, and managed to publish a few more issues of the zine.  Eventually, due to the band's late-90s hiatus, Koch had to let the fan club, and its publication, cease for the time being.

Each issue of the zine would consist of around 14 pages, each filled with information on b-sides, discography updates, tour dates, interviews with the band, Karl's Corner, forms to order band merch, and anything else related to Weezer.

Rebirth
Following the death of Mykel and Carli in 1997, Karl Koch would take over full control of the magazine (beginning with issue #11, which was dedicated as a tribute to the sisters). Production of the zines began to slow down, both due to Koch's busy life, and due to the lack of news caused by the band's hiatus. Weezine, alongside the fan club as a whole, would be officially ended by Koch and the band around 2000.<ref>Koch, Karl. 2002. In Between Time: The strange trip between "old" and "new" weez. When the Fan Club was reborn in the early naughts following Weezer's return to action, the Weezine was also reborn. It ran for several issues before the new version of the Fan Club folded.

Content
The original run of Weezine ran for a total of 14 issues from the Winter of 1994 to May, 1999.
The usual content of a Weezine could include any combination of the following items:

*Intro and 'state of the club' address by the Allans
The publication would be revived in a small capacity in 2002, following the reformation of the fan club by Koch and a fan named Suzanne. A second run of "unofficial" Weezines began, start a new volume with issue #1 in Fall of that year. This iteration of the zine generally featured much less interaction with the band, with only brief interviews being placed intermittently throughout each issue.Citation needed It would only last for 3 issues, ending in the Spring of 2003.
*Letters/greetings from the band members
*Lyrics to the latest Weezer songs, such as B-sides or compilation exclusives (always in Rivers Cuomo's handwriting)
*Submissions by fan club members (articles, reviews, photos, fan art, etc.)
*Articles by Koch, answering questions submitted by club members, updating the band's discography for collectors, and detailing the band's gear for musicians
*Club exclusive contests
*Tour dates, release dates, etc.
*Occasional special features

Omnibuses
In 2015, a collection of all 14 original Weezine issues entitled the Weezine Omnibus was released, exclusively for fan club members. It featured high quality scans of each issue, alongside many of the different letters and goodies that were sent to members of the fan club throughout the 90's. It was compiled and designed by Alec Longstreth and edited by Karl Koch.<ref>Longstreth, Alec. March 27, 2019. Weezine Omnibus. Longstreth and Koch would collaborate again to release a new version of this collection in 2016 under the title of Weezine Omnibus: Deluxe Edition. It featured scans of the original color copies of each Weezine issue, as well as over 100 extra pages containing various fan club materials pulled from Koch's vault. It was intended as a definitive source of fan club info for hardcore Weezer fans.<ref>Longstreth, Alec. April 3, 2019. Weezine Omnibus: Deluxe Edition.
