Weezerpedia:Make a move!

Weezerpedia wants you to edit as often as possible! To quote "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To":

"If you're wondering if I want you to, I want you! So make a move, 'cause I ain't got all night!"

So make a move!

Rivers Cuomo wants you to make a move, and so do we!

Weezerpedia encourages users to make a move when updating the encyclopedia. Despite the size and rigorous standards each editor holds themselves to, everybody makes mistakes, thus everybody should try to help to fix problems, correct grammar, add facts, make sure wording is accurate, etc. We want everyone to make a move and help make Weezerpedia a better encyclopedia.

How many times have you read something and thought, "Well, that doesn't sound right," or "I feel like that topic should have a page", well, Weezerpedia not only allows you to add, revise, and edit articles: it wants you to do it. Of course, others here will edit what you write. Don't take it personally! They, just like you, just want to make Weezerpedia as good as it can possibly be.

The best place to talk about Weezerpedia, help contribute to future projects, meet like-minded people, and even bother Karl Koch with all your weird obscure Teal Album-related questions, is our very own Discord server! This is where most our community resides and converses, and if you want to find something to help with, we have several editors there ready to direct you!

Even if you don't know much about Weezer, there is undoubtedly something on Weezerpedia that you can correct or change, as simple as a redirect, as hard as a missing citation. Make a move!

...but make sure that too much pain doesn't come our way

Brian Bell, Pat Wilson, and Scott Shriner as happy as can be after Rivers Cuomo makes a move!

Though the boldness of contributors like you is one of Weezerpedia's greatest assets, it is important that contributors take care of the common good and not edit recklessly. Of course, any changes you make that turn out badly can be reverted, usually painlessly. It is important not to be insulted if your changes are reverted or edited further. If you're unsure of anything, just ask for advice.

Often it is easier to see that something is not right rather than to know exactly what would be right. We do not require that everyone make a move. After all, commenting that something in an article is incorrect can be the first step to getting it fixed. It is true, though, that problems are more certain to be fixed, and will probably be fixed faster, if you are bold enough to do it yourself.

Okay, maybe this page isn't exactly "relevant"

If you're working on making a page, or a large-scale edit that replaces tons of content, it's good to make a "draft" page if you feel like you can't finish it all in one sitting! Draft pages can be made like any other page, just append "Draft:" to the beginning of the page title, chuck it into the search bar, and you'll likely be prompted to make it a page! It's also a good way to "sandbox" your edits, and protect them from the scrutiny of the admins and senior editors.

...and there won't come a day where we have nothing left to say

Even if it might feel hard to find something to work on, Weezerpedia is always in need of a hand! If you feel like graduating from simple corrections, feel free to work on larger projects:

Any contribution you make is wholly appreciated. Thanks for helping!
