Brian J. Kenny is an American folk musician and producer from Alameda, California. He is presently a member of Jason Cropper's backing band.

Overview

Brian J. Kenny started writing songs when he was 15 years old[1] and began recording albums under his label, Country Tick Records, in 1997. Since then, he has written and recorded 30 albums.[2]

In the 2010s, Kenny attended a 4th of July party in Oakland, California where he met Jason Cropper. In 2017, Cropper co-wrote and produced Kenny's album Topical Tunes for Troubled Times, on which Cropper is a featured performer. In 2019, Cropper and Kenny formed the Jason Cropper Band alongside drummer Rob Ahlers. Kenny performed at the band's inaugural concert on November 22, 2019. Cropper has cited Kenny as a huge inspiration for him to start writing music again.[citation needed] Kenny plays bass guitar on Cropper's forthcoming album, including the singles "Goodness Knows", "Perfect Dream", "Humble Shack", and "Clever Trick".
