"Cardigan Disaster" is commonly confused with "Midnight", as they were both worked on around the same time, Rivers Cuomo introducing "Midnight" as "Cardigan Disaster" during live performances, and "Midnight" using the phrase "Cardigan Disaster" in it's lyrics. The two songs, however, are totally different, this is confirmed by a voice note released on Alone XIII containing what is likely the chorus to "Cardigan Disaster", and a post by Dustin Addis on the All Things Weezer forums confirming the two as being different.[1]
