"Enter Sandman" is a song by heavy metal band Metallica originally released in 1991. A Weezer cover of the song appeared as the seventh track on the tribute album The Metallica Blacklist.
Overview
The song was first hinted at on November 10, 2020, when Rivers Cuomo posted on Riverchat that the band was working on a tribute album for one of his favorite bands in high school. During a Q&A on November 17, 2020, the song was confirmed to be "Enter Sandman"[1]. It was officially announced on June 22 2021 via Metallica's twitter.
It was released as a single for the album on August 3, 2021.
Weezer performed the song live for the first time at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on September 18, 2021.
