Today in Weezer History: 1/27/2001 - On this day in 2001, weezer was in Los Angeles at work on the Green Album. "...recording day 30...Today was similar to yesterday in that it started out with Brian singing a bunch more back up vocal parts, and continued with a grab bag of changes, fixes and overdubs. Included in todays "icing on the cake" type activity were some Rivers vocal fixes (his throat is finally starting to improve), more lead guitar parts and changes, and some more "gang vocals" on "Gimmie Some Love" and "Starlight", where Mikey teamed up with a cast of characters including the bands' manager Pat, myself, guitar tech Bobby, Ransom Comfort (the bands' Guitar Center rep), and Rivers' high school friends/Avant-Garde bandmates Michael Stanton and Justin Fisher who just happened to be visiting the studio at the time. (No one gets away with just watching, Rivers puts everyone to work). Later, it was "gang handclap" time, led by Mikey and Atom the drum doctor. Guitar tech Bobby and another visiting friend (Adam Orth, formerly of Shufflepuck) joined in and clapped away on "Starlight"..." -karl, writing on weezer.com. #gangvocals #greenalbum #cellostudios #ricocasek #2001 #mikeywelsh #avantgarde #guitarcenter
