Today in Weezer History: 10/08/2011: A very sad day 2 years ago today, as Mikey Welsh, weezer bassist from '98-'01, passed away in a hotel room in Chicago. At that same time weezer was playing a show in Oklahoma and were planning on seeing Mikey at their show the next day in Chicago at the Riot Fest. RIP Mikey.
