...Today was a full day of activity in the Greater Toronto Metro Area (AKA GTMA) for the Greater Weezer Aggregate Rockunit (AKA GWAR). First Rivers and Brian headed off to the soccer pitch at Cherry Beach Fields, for the 1st ever Athletes for Africa Charity Soccer Tournament. While Brian offered his wisdom and coaching tips from the sidelines, Rivers went out into the fields of honor to do his part for the tournament, which was set up to help support a youth and cultural center for sport, arts and reconciliation in northern Uganda, where war has ravaged the region for more than 22 years.

Joining Rivers in his 3 games as a fellow member of The Mystery Team, was Brompton native actor Michael Cera. Michael admitted that he hadn't been practicing his ball handling skills, but made up for that with his boundless enthusiasm and energy. It was really cool to hang with him for an afternoon. Meanwhile, apparently Ted Leo was unable to attend due to some sort of mix up at the border, but the rest of the sports and music luminaries were there in force. A great time was had by all. Big ups to the loyal Weez fans who made it out to lend their support!

Later, the band assembled for a rehearsal at a local sound stage, running thru the set, going over details, and giving our fine crew a chance to make sure all the gear and sound equipment was running right.

Finally it was chill time, and the wolf pack scattered aboot willy nilly. Por ejemplo, Patrick had a nice late night supper at the Rivoli on Queen Street.

...Reminder: Weezer's new single, the first from their upcoming 7th album "Raditude" is called "(If you're wondering if i want you to) I want you to". And the super simple radio request phrase once again is: "(If you're wondering if i want you to play "(If you're wondering if i want you to) I want you to", yes, I want you to play "(If you're wondering if i want you to) I want you to". What could be easier?

...Reminder: contest, in which you can make your own custom remix of the Rivers Cuomo track "My Brain Is Working Overtime", on Indaba.com! "...Rivers is now offering the Indaba community the accapella and instrumental tracks for the song "My Brain Is Working Overtime" and wants to hear you complete, reimagine, and fully-realize the potential of this home recording..."
