Mallrats is the 1995 soundtrack to the 1995 film of the same name.
Overview
The soundtrack to Kevin Smith's follow-up to 1994's Clerks, the Mallrats album features many then-hip or up-and-coming rock acts, as well as Weezer, who turn in the non-album track "Susanne". The music is interspersed with excerpts of dialogue from the film, something that was fairly new concept at the time.
A song that originally appeared as a b-side on the "Undone" single the previous year, the soundtrack version of "Susanne" is a remixed, partially re-recorded take. The new mix was eventually re-released on the Deluxe Edition of The Blue Album (also known as Dusty Gems & Raw Nuggets).
Other artists that appear are Wax, several members of which once roomed with the Weezer gang at Amherst House, and Archers of Loaf, who opened the spring 1995 leg of the Blue Album Tour.
